Leigh GattLeigh Gatt - Managing Director

Master of Management; Diploma of Business; Diploma of Social Studies.

Leigh has worked in the local government sector in Australia and New Zealand for over 25 years. Working initially in the community development field, her more recent work has been around strategic planning, outcomes, research, project management and organisational development.

Leigh has chaired several regional committees and been on national working parties. She has many years of experience as a senior manager of a research team and has been an advisor to units of local government on the development of strategic alliances between central and local government, strategic planning and measurement of outcomes in the public sector. She has also advised central government departments on strategic planning, outcome hierarchies and indicator development.

 

Elizabeth Kerekere

Te Whanau a Kai, Te Aitanga a Mahaki, Rongowhakaata

Bachelor of Arts (Gender); Diploma in Teaching; Certificate in Multicultural Education.

Elizabeth has over 25 years of experience working within Maori, community and government organisations. She is a skilled researcher and facilitator. Elizabeth has a particular skill in gaining access and giving voice to marginalised communities, and has conducted numerous engagement programmes with Maori. She has held many positions on local, regional and national advisory boards and is currently Chair of Tiwhanawhana Trust, and a Trustee of the National Council of NZ Aotearoa Adolescent Health and Development, and the National Youth Workers Network Assn.

 

Dr Jan Browne

Doctor of Philosophy; Master of Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing (Honours).

Jan has experience in a range of qualitative research methods including community engagement, participative action research, in-depth interviewing, grounded theory, qualitative data analysis, and case studies. Her emphasis has been on social justice in health care settings. She has worked with very diverse communities and is passionate about listening to people, and bringing individual voices together to tell a powerful collective story. Jan has published widely in refereed journals, and written book chapters in qualitative data collection and analysis. She has also received several awards for her research.

 

Mary Hart

Master of Science in Social Research Methods; Bachelor of Arts in Politics.

 
Mary has 15 years' experience in social research.  Most of this has been in the academic sector in the UK, in the areas of social policy and criminology. Since coming to New Zealand in 2005, Mary has completed research projects for various universities, government ministries and crown research institutes. She has depth of experience in all parts of the qualitative and quantitative research process, including extensive skills in research methodology, interviewing, qualitative analysis and dissemination. She has presented many papers at national and international conferences.

Master of Arts in Social Science Research; Post Graduate Diploma in Social Sector Evaluation and Research; Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Social Policy.

Brian has worked in both the private and public sector and was a business owner before working extensively in the health sector undertaking service reviews and evaluations. He is an experienced and accomplished social researcher with extensive skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods. Brian works on principles of honesty and integrity and is motivated by social change that occurs as a result of his work.

 

Jo-Anne Hazel

Master of Philosophy (Distinction); Postgraduate Diploma in Business Communication; Bachelor of Psychology.

 

Jo is a researcher with extensive experience working with central and local government, business, and the not-for-profit sector. Jo specialises in qualitative research techniques, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, and content analysis. She is a very skilled writer, and uses her considerable people skills, logic and organising ability to manage projects, ensuring that they are well communicated, on time and on budget.

 

Louise Davidson

Bachelor of Social Sciences; Post-Grad Diploma in Economic Development; Post-Grad Diploma in Arts (Social Policy). 

Louise has worked in the private and not-for-profit sectors as well as local government. Her strengths are in the community development sector where she has extensive experience in project planning and management, research and policy development and analysis, strategic planning, and facilitation. Louise has led the development of several local government-based policies and strategies. Her key areas of knowledge and passion are in affordable and healthy housing, community development, youth development, and gender analysis.

 

Hadleigh Pedler

Bachelor of Science (Hons). Currently studying toward a Bachelor of Laws.

Hadleigh has worked in the private and public sectors in New Zealand and the UK and is skilled in research, analysis, reporting, and legislative consultation. His background includes work in development, marketing, project management and regulatory environments. He is widely travelled and has danced barefoot on the Artic Tundra, is able to cook a three course meal at altitude for 14 people and can plant 1500+ trees in a single day!

 

Gatt Consulting Ltd also has  a pool of associates that are specifically selected and assigned to projects.
